Reflections on Hurricane Sandy and “Abide with Me” from a Brooklyn priest

This is a must read from David Sibley. I’m proud to have been his sponsoring priest for a brief time. He wrote this deeply moving reflection this evening. Read it. Just read it.

  1. Thank you, Jonathon. This was, perhaps, the best lesson I’ve read in a very long time. Nothing personal :), but still there was something in the words and rhythms that reminds me of the classical Anglican divines. Hooker, especially. Not sure why, but there it is…

“And you only live forever in the lights you make
When we were young we used to say
That you only hear the music when your heart begins to break
Now we are the kids from yesterday”
